Pulse, spray paint, 2023
MA GRADUATION PROJECT
As I forge the iron my heart beats to the same rhythm,
I merge with the metal
Pulse focuses on the outbreak of contained feelings like anger and stress, I used the beating of my heart and the forging of nails as a guide through my work.
I looked at what makes us human and what we share: our mortality / being alive at this moment
a beating heart and a body constructed of bones.
I started from two connecting components in the body: the bone, which functions as the foundation of our body, and our heart, which provides a constant pulse through blood vessels.

Bones casted in aluminium, 2023
I see our bones, not only as a literal connection in the body, but also as a figurative connection between people, because we all have a transient body from which eventually only our bones will be left.
A memento mori, despite its lurid connotation, is a reminder for me to live fully in the now, to feel and enjoy,
an ode to hedonism, and to being 'human'.

juste un clou en colère, copper bracelet, 2023
